The “Total Athlete”

Hi Team,

Hope you all had a great weekend! If you usually train on Saturday mornings, we hope you enjoyed your extra day of RECOVERY!

Yesterday we participated in Northwestern University’s 1st Strength Coach Clinic. I was one of only two other women strength coaches in a weight room dominated by men. It was great to be able to work side by side with them and and get respect for my knowledge and expertise. It was especially great to see pro and collegiate strength coaches doing so many of the same things we do at TGA.

The theme of the conference was “Developing the Total Athlete”. The strength coaches that we met only have a very short time to work with their athletes before the season begins. They’re main goal is to get results FAST and keeping their athletes injury free.

I want TGA to be a place where you become a “total athlete”, a place where you train hard in a team environment and get results FAST. Our mission statement is simple: to help you become the strongest, leanest, and most conditioned version of yourself.

The components of the “total athlete” that we will focus on are:

Flexibility

Agility/Movement Skills

Injury Prevention/Corrective Exercise

Nutrition/Recovery

Strength/Power

Conditioning

Mental Toughness

Team Building/Leadership

Our principles and training methods were totally reinforced by what the collegiate and pro strength coaches are doing with their high level athletes. We are excited to continue to use research based, cutting edge tools and training to help you achieve your goals.

We want you to reach your potential. It is a privilege to work with you on a weekly basis.
