Shoot for the GOLD!

The opening ceremonies for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro will be this Friday August 5. Over 10,000 elite athletes will represent 206 countries to compete in 42 Olympic sports.

While we probably all missed our Olympic gold medal opportunity in life, Nike Co-Founder Bill Bowerman said it best, “If you have a body, you are an athlete.” Do you believe that about yourself?

Do any of you get excited watching the Olympics? I absolutely love watching the sprint events. The explosive power those athletes generate just amazes me. All you have to do is take a look at their muscular backsides and you know where that power is coming from! Can anyone say, “GLUTES, GLUTES, and MORE GLUTES!!!!

Have you ever watched an event and thought about what makes an Olympic athlete so good at what they do?

Let’s face it, all the competitors at that level have what it takes physically, but do they have “THAT EXTRA SOMETHING” to get the GOLD? What sets them apart?? It takes more than just physical ability, it takes consistency, hard work, dedication, mental fortitude, elite coaching, a huge support system, accountability, and a strict nutritional program to get on the platform with a gold medal around your neck. I often wonder if the silver medalist is the most pissed off person at the Olympics. Are they wondering if they had just worked a little harder and longer or had better coaching, would they have gotten the GOLD? And the bronze medalist is probably ecstatic just to be standing on a platform at all with a medal around their neck!

Where do you fall on your training continuum? Are you elite (GOLD), pissed off at your results (SILVER), or just happy to be doing something (BRONZE)? Do you have what it takes to train at a GOLD level? We’d like to think YOU do!! TGA provides the elite coaching, support system, accountability, and nutritional programming, YOU HAVE TO PROVIDE THE CONSISTENCY, HARD WORK, DEDICATION, and MENTAL FORTITUDE. It’s a TEAM EFFORT!!!

If you think you can’t squat a number I have programmed for you, YOU PROBABLY WON’T!! Trust in the programming. I spend a lot of time calculating numbers to get YOU stronger! The process works, if you work the process. I will do all the thinking and programming, you just need to execute it!! Like an elite athlete, you must not over think everything. The people who get the best results are the ones who are coachable and trust their coach’s expertise to plan and program their results.

That being said, please send me your schedules in advance as programming takes me a long time and it is not easy to do if you are not consistent. If you want individualized programming and gold medal results, this is what it takes! Let’s do it TOGETHER!
