Can I just show up to any class?
No. Class times are by appointment only. Please allow twenty-four (24) hour advance notice if you wish to attend. Class size is limited. All classes are programmed intentionally based on the clients who are registered in advance.
When should I arrive for my class?
Arrive no more that five (5) minutes prior to your class time. This will ensure that the class or semi-private session previous to yours is not disturbed and gets the full benefit of their session time.
Is it ok to arrive late?
No. You need to take your training seriously and plan your schedule accordingly. Arriving on time is not only respectful to your coach but also the other clients who are waiting to train. Classes start on time regardless if you are present or not. Due to the importance of our warm-ups, if you are more than ten (10) minutes late, you will not be allowed to participate in the class.
What if something comes up and I have to cancel my session?
All classes require a twenty-four (24) hour cancellation. Any and all cancellations with less that twenty-four (24) hours notice including “no-shows” will result in forfeiture of the session without refund.
What should I bring to class?
You should bring a water bottle and a towel. You must stay hydrated during our intense classes. Please be respectful of your teammates and surroundings. It is courteous to wipe up your sweat. No one wants to workout in someone else’s DNA.
Do I have to be an elite athlete to participate?
It certainly helps, but no. While elite athletes do come to Training Ground Athletic, we train everyone regardless of athletic ability. The beauty of the TGA Pyramid Training Model is that you can train at any level. Of course, our ultimate goal is to bring out “the athlete in you.”
Should I workout when I’m sick?
Absolutely not! Please stay home and rest if you are coming down with something and not feeling well. Not only is this respectful to other clients and your coach, it will keep our facility germ-free and prevent the spread of illness.
Can I wear any type of shoes to train?
No. All sports require equipment and appropriate shoes are a very important part of your training equipment at TGA. The wrong type of shoes will hinder your performance and ultimate progress. Invest in shoes that are specifically designed for training with a flat, hard sole and good medial/lateral support. No running shoes as the cushioning in the sole, while good for shock absorption is not good for generating force from the ground to lift heavy weights. Please keep your training shoes separate and wear them only at TGA.
I’m pretty athletic, why do I have to start at the level of the Group Foundations Class?
Group Foundations is required for all new participants at Training Ground Athletic. It is also required for existing clients who are returning after an absence of thirty (30) days or more. We have to assess your baseline mobility and strength before progressing you to a more advanced level of training. Attending Group Foundations will teach you the basics and ensure that you are ready for the next level.
Do my sessions ever expire?
Yes. All sessions expire six (6) months from the date of purchase. If you are consistent with your training, this will not be an issue. Consistency is the key to getting results at TGA and it is part of our Training Agreement. If we haven’t seen each other in six (6) months, we are probably not a good fit.
